About my practice

My counselling practice specialises in the life experiences of grief, loss and change and searching for meaning and purpose.

After an extensive career in education, I completed qualifications in Experiential and Creative Arts Therapies and Grief and Bereavement Interventions. For 5 years, I was a Practitioner Associate counsellor with the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) and am accredited as a Certified Bereavement Practitioner (CBP) through the ACGB. I am a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (Level 4) and I am also a registered creative arts therapist with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association.  I am also qualified to teach the 8 week Mindful Self-Compassion Course.

I draw upon a range of counselling approaches including Mindful Self-Compassion and Compassion Focused Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy, Positive Psychology and Creative Arts Therapy.

For those seeking face to face counselling I have rooms in Trentham and Woodend. I offer home and hospital visits  as well as phone and online video (Zoom) counselling.
