About my practice
My counselling practice specialises in the life experiences of grief, loss and change and searching for meaning and purpose.
After an extensive career in education, I completed qualifications in Experiential and Creative Arts Therapies and Grief and Bereavement Interventions. For 5 years, I was a Practitioner Associate counsellor with the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) and am accredited as a Certified Bereavement Practitioner (CBP) through the ACGB. I am a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (Level 4) and I am also a registered creative arts therapist with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association. I am also qualified to teach the 8 week Mindful Self-Compassion Course.
I draw upon a range of counselling approaches including Mindful Self-Compassion and Compassion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy, Positive Psychology and Creative Arts Therapy.
For those seeking face to face counselling I have rooms in Trentham and Woodend. I offer home and hospital visits as well as phone and online video (Zoom) counselling.
